Crystal River Capital, Inc. ("Crystal River") is a publicly traded REIT (NYSE: CRZ) which invests in real estate-related securities, loans and other assets, including residential mortgage-backed securities, and commercial mortgage-backed securities, whole mortgage loans, bridge loans, junior interests in mortgage loans known as B Notes, and mezzanine loans. Crystal River opportunistically invests in direct real estate interests and preferred equity interests in entities that own real estate, diversified asset-backed securities and collateralized debt obligations. Finally, Crystal River also selectively invests in certain alternative assets to achieve its portfolio goals.
